A native English speaker who has worked extensively in UK, Australia, Asia and USA, I decided to change career and recently (Dec. 2013) qualified as a CELTA graduate from ILS Nottingham. I now have five years of on-line teaching experience (ESL Philosophy and Science courses in China and Korea, Grade 1 to 6, adult and IELTS). I am currently looking to broaden the private students and agents for whom I work and the countries in which I teach.
I have had many enjoyable years experience in teaching software to professional users, and I am expanding my horizons to use this experience to teach English. The introduction to teaching (CELTA) has shown me how satisfying this profession can be, and I have taught from both the UK and Philippines. I am currently resident in Manila (PI), and have managed to create a stable working environment with reasonable quality redundant land-line (SKY and Globe) connections and off-line backup systems. My IT background has been a useful adjunct to my teaching skills and I am keen to continue developing methods of on-line teaching to expand and improve my teaching activities. Currently, I am working on the development of fixed, multi-student classes in Science and specific Shakespeare plays using modern media and a composite of current and traditional English language.
